Extremely delicious and very affordable! Great buffet and they actually have vegetarian borscht. The food is served fast and overall atmosphere is welcoming!

Feels just like home! Old Lviv is a cozy spot with true Ukrainian hospitality and amazing food. Everything tastes authentic – the borscht is rich, the varenyky are tender, the meat dishes are juicy, and the desserts bring back childhood memories. You can really feel the love and tradition in every bite. It’s wonderful to experience a piece of Lviv here in Chicago. If you miss real Ukrainian food, this is the place to go!

Such a cute little spot for authentic Ukrainian food. Everything was good, the buffet items and the perogies!! Please support this place. Street parking was pretty easy when we visited during a weekday lunch. Everything is super cheap.

I was in Old Lviv Restaurant with my children and was warmly welcomed into its cozy, homey atmosphere. We adored the hearty borscht, rich and comforting, and the savory potato-and-cheese varenyky, tender dumplings bursting with flavor. The family-friendly buffet allowed us to sample authentic Ukrainian classics in generous portions—perfect for a first-time culinary adventure with kids.

If you’re reading all of the one star reviews about the bad service, please understand the cultural differences between Eastern European and American culture. The service may feel cold, you might feel like you’re being a bother, you might want to leave, you won’t receive a smile, but never take it personal. Stay. I highly recommend you try the borscht, it’s the national dish of Ukraine and it’s a really well put together soup. We got the varenyky and it was decent. I wish they had a beef only option. The waitress gives complementary bread with butter, but I recommend saving the bread to dip in the soup. They also had a buffet but we didn’t try anything, food looked good though. Very clean and cozy seating area. Definitely a great place to try authentic Ukrainian food if you’ve never had it before.

Felt like I'd returned home for winter holidays; mom had cooked ahead of my arrival, and I was savoring a familiar meal that I'd enjoyed since childhood. Except I'm Chinese so this was quite new to me, really, but at least that's how I felt eating here.
